Au Pair of the Year 2008
At the 2008 International Au Pair Association (IAPA) annual meeting Cultural Care au pair, Linda Falter from Vettweiss, Germany, was awarded the 2008 Au Pair of the Year award. This prestigious award is given to one outstanding au pair out of the many thousands who participate each year. Candidates are nominated by their host families and then au pair finalists submit an essay detailing his/her experience as an au pair. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges nominated by IAPA.
Linda traveled to the Sato family of Hayward, California in June 2006 and then extended with the Satos for a second year. She was chosen from a large pool of qualified candidates to represent the au pair community to highlight the positive impact of this important exchange program. The ceremony was hosted by IAPA and its Chairman, Jack Hompes. Attending the ceremony were about 350 industry representatives and IAPA members from all over the world, including Cultural Care Au Pair representatives Goran Rannefors, President, Jessica Szubart, Sales Director and Kay Weber, Country Program Manager for Cultural Care Germany.
